Altijd een aangenaam soort 'welkom' als je bij duister via de A28 terugkeert in Groningen. Wat Kurt W. Forster bij het ontwerpen nog niet wist is dat de verwijzing naar de gaswinning (door de zeven 'vlammen') 20 jaar later een nogal beladen thema zou worden.
The first of a series of ten city markings on the occasion of the 950 anniversary of Groningen in 1990. Always a pleasant kind of 'welcome' when you return to Groningen via darkness on the A28. What Kurt W. Forster did not know when designing is that the reference to gas extraction (through the seven 'flames') would become a rather loaded theme 20 years later.
