This was one of the oldest airports. The station building was designed by the architects Brinkman and van der Vlugt, who also designed the van Nelle factory in Rotterdam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zo jammer dat je dit fantastisch mooie gebouw maar van één kant goed kunt zien. Maar goed, we mogen blij zijn dat het er nog staat en goed onderhouden wordt. Ik zou willen dat meer inwoners van Ypenburg beseffen wat zich hier heeft afgespeeld op 10 mei 1940.
Such a shame that you can only see this fantastically beautiful building from one side. Anyway, we can be happy that it is still there and is well maintained. I would like more Ypenburg residents to realize what happened here on May 10, 1940.
