The souto soup is the best, but quite a disappointment with the rest of the food. I had hope to taste some of Surinam fine dine and was only pleased by the souto!

Used to be very great but a bit less these days. Their tello with 'bakkeljauw' is really nice. Good authentic Surinam dishes. You can eat in or take out. Cash only.

The place to be to taste some authentic Surinamese/Javanese dishes and they have vegetarian/vegan dishes on the menu. Great!

If you want real surinamese food, visit DjoDjo. the taste is consistent and always reminds me of surinam. The kitchen staff is hard working and always goes the extra mile to give you the best! Prices are very good also. If you have a sensitive belly, you should really go there because the taste is good without the over exsessive use of herbs and spices...

My favourite restaurant of the Hague. They are a humble, family run restaurant but their hearty dishes are full of authentic flavour; and the staff are authentically friendly! Try their dawed - a sweet, fruity drink made with coconut milk

Very disappointing experience. I am visiting from U.S and was very much looking forward to eating at Djojo for dinner. I was with my family and we were all Very hungry and was anticipating to eat the best Surinamese food in Den Haag. However, we waited an hour and had no food. When we asked the waiter how long will our food take he answered very rudely, that we have to be patient and that we should understand that they are busy. Finally after waiting over an hour we got our saoto soup. The soup was very watery and did not compare to authentic saoto soup. Not sure if we had bad timing but there was no compassion from the staff so i would say "enter at your own risk."

The restaurant was lovely. It is owned by such a friendly family and the food they cook is incredibly authentic. Such a fantastic restaurant. It is also popular among the locals and when talking to the sweet owner she told me that some people tell her that eating the food is just like eating at home. I loved it so much and I would definitely visit again!

Good tasting food for a reasonable price. The personnel is friendly however they should work of their serving/service skills. Our order was mixed up with an other at another table and so we had a long wait for our starters. No explanation/apologies from the waiter. We weren't asked if we wanted new drinks which we all did.
