The Amsterdam nightlife hotspot Suzy Wong has been inspired by the 1957 novel ‘The World of Suzie Wong by Richard Mason in which lead character Robert Lomax, a young Englishman working in an office, decides to pursue a new career as an artist in Hong Kong. He checks into the Nam Kok Hotel, not realizing that it is an unofficial brothel. This discovery only makes the hotel more charming in Lomax’s opinion and a better source of inspiration for his paintings. He quickly befriends most of the hotel’s bargirls but is most fascinated by the archetypal “entertainment lady with a heart of gold”, Suzie Wong. Lomax originally decides that he will not sleep with any of the girls but it soon emerges that Suzie Wong is interested in him, not as a customer but as a serious boyfriend. Although Suzie Wong becomes the kept woman of two other men, Lomax and Wong are eventually reunited.

β β β β β This is a nice place to go if you have to celebrate something. The DJ is really good and plays modern mixes of modern music. I went here to with 3 friends and we drunk one shot and one beer per person. We ended up spending a little bit more than 40 euros. It's quite expensive, but the interrior and DJ are very nice, so yeah. I would like to go here again, but not within the range of one month.

β β β β β We went there for a company's Christmas dinner. Lovely and caring service and delicious food. Decent chef making tasty food. However everything served in tiny amounts, for example one of the courses was just one scallop with a smidge of cauliflower sauce. I must say that the tastes were really delicious, including pumpkin soup and pork, HOWEVER THE PORTIONS were microscopic. Nice gesture of our Management though. Friendly service.

β β β β β Someone at the bar washing glasses told me to go to my seat to which I replied "okay" then he proceeded to mockingly imitate me right to my face.
Besides that the waitress and mixologist didn't know the menu and told me they were out of an ingredient that wasn't even in the drink I ordered and that I had to pick something else. I had to say it multiple times untill she got it.
Drinks itself were good but the overall experience was rather unpleasant.
