β β β β β Perfect place to improve your swim skills from beginner to pro. I just started a few weeks ago and following two SWODs (swim of the day) a week. I really can recommend it!
There are different options of how many trainings you want to follow. You have also the possibility to train on your own next to it.

β β β β β Paid β¬16,50 for a tryout. (I never had to pay for a gym trial, or had to tryout for that matter, before this). After scheduling (several weeks in advance because they were booked up) I received an email that if I was not on time I would forfeit my place and the fee. I was also required to wear a swim cap. They sell them at reception. Arrived to reception and had to pay β¬8,50 for a SwimGym branded swim cap. The instructor was late, and they were unable to open the locker room doors due to spotty WiFi. If you havenβt paid enough fees yet, you must have β¬0,50 for the locker. When I finally arrived to the pool (still on time, in spite of them) the coach asked if I was ready and when I said yes, he responded, βI should hope so.β
At one point during the session, the coach was explaining the different types of folks who go there. In regard to the group of people who just go to swim laps, who donβt want training, I found him to be a bit insulting. He waved his arms imitating a poor technique, commenting about how their stroke isnβt good, but they just come to swim. He was going for a laugh, and it felt really out of line, since they pay to swim in peace.
The tryout was a group session, and the first thing the coach said to the group was, βI donβt think we have any pros here.β (Why did he need to say that?) The βgymβ itself is two 50m lanes divided in half. So you actually have about 8-10 people swimming in two 25m lanes, which is not as spacious as their marketing suggests. The coach provides you with occasional tips and then gives you a SWOD at the end (a challenging set of laps increasing in intensity, altogether 200+150+75+50+25 meters). Then he sorts you into rank, starter, middle, or pro, in front of the group.
After the session you can shower in a small open setting, with the group, visible to all people in the gym. Inside the lockers there is a sign which tells you to change quickly, as they like to clean them frequently (pushy).
Then you come out and the coach tries to get you to pay a fee to come back! At this point I was quite fed up with all their fees, pushy policies, and total lack of sensitivity. I was quite honest with him, and he was not even able to listen to my feedback. He interrupted me, told me I did not understand because of his English (lame excuse, I understood him perfectly the entire session), and proceeds to explain himself. In short, he was dismissive and smug. I didnβt even go into all the problems I felt about the place, as it didnβt seem worth my time. I do not intend to go back.
Overall toxic masculinity and pushy capitalist policies make this a βMust Miss.β Would not recommend. If you want a swim coach join a masters league. They usually say things like βeveryone welcomeβ and the fees are not for profit.

β β β β β Another lockdown, another ridiculous compensation from Swimgym!
Confirming other negative reviews: last and all lockdowns before: compensation offered was ALWAYS insufficient and members ALWAYS lost quite a lot of money!
Swimgym is a wonderful concept, but it has no competition and it uses its monopoly in a nasty way! :((

β β β β β This is a fantastic place to swim and improve your swimming skills. The coaches are challenging and supportive at the same time, and there is a real sense of community. During long lockdown periods they made a real effort to keep us going with personalised outdoor dryland training.
The pool itself is great - well ventilated and minimal chlorine compared to other pools - important to me as I have asthma.

β β β β β The best swimming set up I've ever had - can't recommend enough for serious swimmers.
Through SWOD classes and feedback from the professional & attentive coaches, I've noticed significant improvements in my technicque for the first time in over a decade.

β β β β β Best place to swim. You can practice like a pro without the expectation and within your own boundaries. All trainers are friendly and quite good, and every week there are different themes and activities to improve your skills.
