Fons de Visscher was a respected fishmonger for 27 years in Helmond, a small city in the Netherlands, when he decided to start a new adventure. Driven by his passion for fish and great wines, Fons created The Seafood Bar. The first restaurant opened its doors in 2012 and we've been living our dream ever since.

β β β β β Very nice fish restaurant. We had a mixed grill and salads and potatoes and a bottle of chardonnay. The food was tasty and enough for 3 people. Definitely a good place to go in Amsterdam, it s in a nice area, a bit outside the city rush.

β β β β β Great place right on a busy pedestrian\bicycle road. Plenty to watch from the outdoor seating area. Food is great if you are seafood person. We really liked the oysters on the half shell for an appetizer and then we had the mixed grill for two, ton of food and reasonable pricing as well. Elsa our waitress was funny and very good.

β β β β β We had a team dinner for 3 people and we were mesmerised by the food. The taste was exquisite and the presentation was fabulous. The servitors were really friendly and helped in meeting the needs of customers (being Asian and loving spicy food, they provided me with additional sauce to make my food as per my taste). Really appreciate the hospitality of all the people working there.

β β β β β Very nice restaurant with good food and friendly staff. We ordered the grilled octopus starter and the deep fried squid, fish and prawns meal. It was very tasty. The seafood platter look amazing and we will definitely go back to try that.

Everything to love with the βcombination for 2β: a seafood platter and a grilled platter in oneβ¦ lobster, mussels, oysters, prawns, fishesβ¦ raw and cooked. So fresh you feel your feet are on the beach.
Good selection of wines and cocktails.

β β β β β We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was really quick less than 30m from seating to eating. We ordered the combo platter for the taste everything experience. The place is child friendly, we went with our toddler and he was able to eat from the kids menu. It's also located in the centre, you can walk around before and after eating.

β β β β β It was a really special experience at this restaurant. The fish is really fresh and the way it is served is quite appetizing. We started off with the lobster soup; it was really tasty. After that we got the combination platter, some cold fish and others from the grill. Except for the sea snails, everything else was pretty great. The staff is also super friendly and the whole atmosphere is quite chill.
