★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hotel is HORRIBLE. The room definitely does not worth what it cost. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets smelled like feet, also the room did not look particularly clean. Very little facilities (I mean none) and did a mention how uncomfortable the bed was? Very difficult to find as its part of a restaurant. Very disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am only writing this review because a day after leaving the hotel I'm still remembering the night I spent from Sunday to Monday there due to the more than 20 mosquito bites that I have all around my body: from feet soles to back via hands and arms. The staff working at the hotel were super friendly, nice and helpful, they always had a smile and helped in every single thing they could, I would give them 10 out of 10 stars. This has nothing to do with the workers, but with a window problem since it would be easy to install a mosquito net considering that the windows in the room we got were facing the rooftop of the building next door, which was full of water and together with the humidity became the perfect spot for dozens of mosquitoes to gather. We couldn't sleep all night due to the sound of the flying insects and when I finally managed to fall asleep I had been eaten by the mosquitoes! I'm back in my country now and all my body is horribly itchy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used to work in Rotterdam , due to Corona virus complaints, i asked refund my money that I paid for two weeks forward for the hostel , because i stayed only 4 days , they refused to return it . In general is a really disgusting hostel smell bad everyhwhere , shower is urine -soaked , and schimmel . Manager
Jantine de Feijter Is not professional employee ,she dont listen till the end what you try to say and just hanging up the phone . Not recommend to deal with such not customer - centric hostel they take people for grounded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For 17euro, you can stay safe here at Thuis bij Schell. I highly recommend this for backpackers. Yes, there’s free wifi, the bed is great and rooms are clean. If you want to stay in a dorm-type and is thinking about your budget, choose this one!
You can find fastfood restaurants outside so you could save and buy food for less than 10euro.
The receptionist is friendly and accommodating and is available until 10pm. Also, you can always reach them by phone if you need something urgent.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked a double room for one night for €42 only a few days before arrival.
Everything appeared to be clean, but a lot of things need maintenance. In the room, the window did not close fully, and the mattress is sunken in. In the shared areas, it's small stuff like the flushing mechanism on one of the toilets is exposed, in another only emergency lighting is available. You can also hear anyone moving around at night.
