★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De Jan van Gendthallen zijn vijf oude fabriekshallen van Stork - Werkspoor, op Oostenburg in Amsterdam, waar de machines werden gefabriceerd voor treinlocomotieven en voor schepen. Daar de eerste hal aan de Wittenburgervaart lag konden de gemaakte motoren direct in een schip gehesen worden en geplaatst. Elke hal is uniek in constructie en heeft een eigen bouwjaar. Jan van Gendt was de architect van het geheel.
Per juli 2020 worden de hallen gerenoveerd; het nieuwe gebruik is nog onduidelijk.
The Jan van Gendthallen are five old factory halls of Stork - Werkspoor, on Oostenburg in Amsterdam, where the machines were manufactured for train locomotives and ships. Since the first hall was located on the Wittenburgervaart, the made engines could be directly hoisted and placed in a ship. Each hall is unique in construction and has its own year of construction. Jan van Gendt was the architect of the whole.
The halls will be renovated from July 2020; the new use is still unclear.
