Highly recommended even if a little expensive, but as a one-off worth every penny. Booking was straight forward, on the phone or on their website and there are quite a few conveniently located taxi stops along the river.

We had to call the number indicates on the station (tell where you are and where you wnna go) and within 10 min a little boat came to pick us up. We were with 3 and paid 13.50€ for the ten minute boatride through the harbour. It was quicker then the tram or metro and if in group probably cheaper as well. And you get great views on the landmarks of rotterdam.
