West Gym - Jan van Galenstraat 41

Not satisfied with training space, I have had appointment for 13:00 o clock. I went there at12;55 she was eating her launch. I had to wait 8 minutes more ok I waited . Than she started the so called explaining to me about the equipment but I could not understand her nothing at all, SHE WAS IN A HURRY. She was talking so fast I could not understand her anything. It looked to me like she was in a hurry or she was not happy I came 5 minutes before and she had to hurry up with her launch. They say 19.95 Euros/month on their website but when I asked the lady about the monthly payments prices where totally different prices, the advertised monthly payment 19.95 Euro/month didn't exist at all . With other words , the lady she could not convince me to become a member due to her bad sales skills . I felt I am being mislead. Classic way of selling method. Putting attractive prices on website and than when you are there than prices are of course totally different.

Unfortunately, my locker was forced open and some substantial personal belongings were stolen. It is difficult for me to understand that something like that can happen in a private establishment. I trusted that my belongings were safe. I was disappointed that there was no apology, and only little assistance. I find that unacceptable. I strongly suggest that the management takes measures to prevent such incidents in the future

Love this gym. Simple & no complications. Good machines & weights & friendly staff.

Really nice gym. Great equipment, nice and helfpul staff.

I joined Yourfitness about 2 years ago. I like that the gym is dirt cheap and that it has all the equipment you need. What I don't like is that on some days (like monday evenings) the gym is too crowded, some lockers don't work (which you'll only discover once you have put all your things in it) and staff can be unfriendly. Examples about the staff: often they don't say hello when you enter the gym (or only if you say hello first). They stop the music about 30 minutes before the gym closes so, if you forgot your headphones, you can enjoy about 20 minutes of hearing people huffing and puffing and seeing your training motivation rapidly declining with every rep - which is of course the goal the staff has 'set'. The staff will kick you out of the gym at least 5-10 minutes before closing time because they want to go home early. You'll see the staff frequently smoking in front of the gym during breaks (which is of course their own choice, but a bit strange in my opinion for people involved in fitness & health - I think they just don't care about that a lot). No one asks about your workout and the trainer only "helps" (attractive) girls (which is getting kinda too obvious now). So you really get what you pay for: a cheap small gym with good equipment and unfriendly staff.

This gym has raised my membership fee twice without my permisssion. I have been a member for 10 years. I paid 15,95 originally then it was raised to 17,95. The owner claimed that everyone got an email but I did not and I spoke to someone that worked there and she told me that many members said that they did not receive any email about this. Now he has raised my membership fee to 22,95, again without telling me. My contract does not allow him to raise my fees whenever he wants. This is the worst business I have ever seen. Join fit for free, it is much cheaper and the machines are better and they will not raise your fees without your permission.

I trained in this gym for 3 years and I was very happy because of the gym was so close to my house and the friendships that I made with people there. After the management changed and they switched sports equipment and built a new decor, they started taking the value of what they spent on renewing the gym from the players, when At the beginning of March 2020, I could not go to the gym because of the Corona, and in April I asked on the phone to cancel my subscription in the club and they did not respond, and after two months in the month of juli I asked to cancel the subscription again and they did not respond and in August I came to the gym and asked The employee canceled my subscription and did not take money from me compulsorily because I did not want to come again, so he told me that he was not responsible for the money and he could not control that, and he gave me the phone number of the owner of the gym, and every time I called, no one answered, I did not benefit from the visit after that I sent an email and they did not respond and kept taking money from me in an unjustified manner, and the last time a nice employee received me and canceled my subscription after I paid the monthly subscription for a period of 6 months without any interest .. I know that a 6-month subscription may equal 100, which is an amount Very cheap in Amsterdam and not worthwhile All this explanation, but I felt a lack of respect in dealing with those in charge of the gym, and I will not repeat this experience again .. Friendly staffed gym, in the area with not many gyms - definitely a good choice. Very reasonably priced (early 2022). Even though - gym is definitely not big - in the peak hours (and there is no way of seeing that in advance) you can show up and almost all stations will be full - but you can work around that. Free weight area has only three benches and not much space around them. Can't wait for 24/7 option just for the flexibility but current hours are reasonably good too.
