 one of the few mainland locations where you can see the wadden. And we think that's a shame.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wierum een terpdorp hoog aan de Friese Waddenzeekust met de stoere Mariakerk in de Gemeente Dantumadeel.
Wierum een dorp met een rijke geschiedenis op visserij gebied en dat zie je nog heel goed als je door het dorp loopt, het ene straatje in en het andere weer uit.
Maar blijf niet in het dorp maar ga de zeedijk op en ge niet van het prachtige uitzicht over de Wadden en ook over het dorp, dat in vroeger tijden zijn hele vloot verloor bij een vreselijke storm.
Wierum a mound village high on the Frisian Wadden Sea coast with the sturdy St. Mary's Church in the Municipality of Dantumadeel.
Wierum a village with a rich history in the field of fishing and you can still see that very well when you walk through the village, one street in and the other out.
But do not stay in the village but go on the seawall and you do not enjoy the beautiful view over the Wadden and also over the village, which in earlier times lost its entire fleet in a terrible storm.
