β β β β β Best grocery super store in the area, always get fresh items here, one can easily notice the staff always busy to serve fresh.

β β β β β Big Albert heijn, has lots of variety of products. Parking is easy and free. But some aisle are very chaotic and busy.

β β β β β Good thing about this supermarket is that it has EVERYTHING, plus a lot of machines to pay for your groceries and avoid lines. The problem with all the AH supermarkets is that they donβt accept credit cards.

β β β β β Review from a gluten free coeliac traveller :-)
This XL sized Albert Heijn has an extensive range of specialist gluten free products comparable to what might be found in a UK supermarket like Tesco. For a gluten free visitor to The Hague staying in a self-catering apartment this is a good place to visit with certainty of many simple to prepare foods.
There is a dedicated frozen section featuring many products from the Schar and Consenza brands. This includes some very typically Dutch foods like gluten free Bitter Ballen (see pictures), There are three brands of gluten free pizza including the easy best, Dr Oetker
There is also a dedicated free from section of dry goods with cereals, breads, biscuits, cakes, snack bars and ingredients. Schar and Consenza are joined by a large number of Albert Heijn own brand items including their own version of gluten free Oreos!
There is also a recently launched gluten free freshly baked loaf in their bakery section.
So why only 3 stars? Foreign visitors beware, Albert Heijn does not accept Credit Cards or foreign Debit Cards. You will need cash to pay here. I also dislike the entrance & exit barriers. I expect these are an anti-theft measure but they make the store feel far less friendly than those I am used to elsewhere. Finally, compared to the enormous variety of products found in most UK supermarkets the choice available within Albert Heijn is limited. For example, there are perhaps a half dozen varieties of fresh soup instead of two or three dozen.

β β β β β Big store with more assortment on the shelves.
The extra room seems more important when you really don't want to be close to anyone.

β β β β β Top notch service and a huuuge store. I havenβt seen an AH that feels like a nice SuperWalmart in the US (in a sort of good way). You can pick up orders here and there are an Etos and Gall & Gall, and parking. Kind of like the AH by the Dam Square, but with parking.

β β β β β This is obviously one of the best AH's around as it definitely lives up to it's XL image! Plus you have a Gall & Gall and Etos in there. So literally a one stop shop for all your needs. Please be warned though if you are like me and don't like crowds, weekends might not be the best time to visit ( Also because a lot of the stock will run out faster).
