Vanaf het Centraal station Amsterdam, IJzijde, kan je met de Zaanferry via het IJ en het hembrugterrein, naar Zaandam ( het Zaantheater ) Het is een boottocht van een half uur met een prachtige blik op de haven van Amsterdam en de haven van Zaandam. Op een wat grotere boot vaar je dan vanuit Amsterdam door de haven en op het noordzeekanaal. Bij mooi weer natuurlijk helemaal super, maar ook bij wat minder weer zeer aantrekkelijk en een hele beleving. Op het hembrugterrein heb je gedurende het hele jaar bijzondere tentoonstellingen en attracties. Eenmaal in Zaandam aangekomen heb je de mogelijkheid om Zaandam te bezoeken. Op de dam heb je diverse eet en koffie gelegenheden. En ook het centrum van Zaandam is een bezoek waard. Na een overstap op 500 meter afstand vanwaar je uit stapt, kan je verder met een wat kleinere boot. Dit is voornamelijk zodat je niet voor elke brug hoeft te wachten, maar er.lekker onderdoor kan. Deze boot is een electrische boot ook wel fluisterboot genoemd. Vanaf de sluis in Zaandam vaar je verder langs de fabrieken en oude Zaansehuizen langs de Zaan. Een stop is mogelijk bij de Verkade koekfabriek. Dan weer verder langs de twee grootste cacaofabrieken ter wereld cacao de Zaan en Gerkens cacao. Op verschillende plekken langs de Zaan kom je ze tegen. Vooral omdat ze beide de cacaobonen importeren, branden en er tenslotte cacaopoeder van maken, waarna het weer over de hele wereld wordt verspreid voor het maken van bonbons en chocoladerepen. De volgende stop is de Zaanse Schans, een openlucht museum waar je echt de tijd voor moet nemen er is daar bijzonder veel te zien en te doen. Daarna vaart de bood nog door naar Wormerveer. De laatste stopplaats in de Zaanbocht. De Zaanbocht in Wormerveer is de plek waar regelmatig braderieën en.uitmarkten worden gehouden. Heel vaak lekker druk, maar ook een plek met nog veel kleine winkeltjes. Die in de grote steden steeds meer verdwijnen. Op dit plekje langs de Zaan kom.je ook véél bekende namen en fabrieken tegen, onder andere de Lassie rijstfabriek. Voor wie een.leuke dag uit wil is de Zaanferry een leuke en bijzondere vaartocht van begin tot eind 1 uur varen. Mis je de laatste overstap naar Amsterdam, dan kan je ook met de bus terug naar Amsterdam Centraal of met de trein. Hou er wel rekening mee dat als je een keer bent meegegaan, je vast nog een keer wil. Er is gewoon te veel te zien voor maar een dag.
