★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great concept and location, friendly staff. However, the food itself is pretty bland and there are too few vegetarian options. We had 2 to 3 dishes per person which was plenty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good restaurant in a charming region in Leiden. If the weather is good try to sit outside. The dishes are served in small portions. I'd recommend 2 per person if you're not that hungry. You should skip the lamb chops, but do not miss the shrimp croquettes. They are amazing. If you like desserts, the cheesecake and the Apple pie are out of this world. You do not need to make a reservation.

Usually very busy which is a good sign.
Very service minded and friendly staff which gave us the perfect amount of attention.
Only drawback was that the appel pie was served cold but this might just be lost in translation and as we didn't complain then, I won't complain anymore now.
The fresh mint tea with honey was the perfect solution to a cold day in Leiden. Recommended!
