As an expat and someone who has moved to the Netherlands recently, Action has been quite useful and friendly in terms of items that I can find there at most economic prices. Look up on Google on what kind of stuff you can find here. Broadly, clothes (socks, caps, etc), painting and maintenance stuff, car/bike stuff, home decor and maintenance stuff, electronic devices (keyboard, mouse, small cameras, alarms, etc.), Stationary are the primary categories sold there.

Only downside is how overcrowded it often gets at the register, so anticipate on that during the busier hours and days.

Must go if you are in or around Amsterdam and specially with kids.
Easily takes up your 3/4 hours.
Recommend to go early morning when animals are active. Enough place to sit, relax, eat. In summer also easy to get ice cream vendors.
