Hotel Monastère is favourably located in the city centre of Maastricht.
As its name suggests, the 4-star boutique hotel is based in a former monastery – dating from the 14th-century. Original details of the impressive building have been restored and preserved, but there’s no need to be afraid of medieval circumstances. Today the luxury designed hotel showcases contemporary art and designer furniture. Combined with elements of 14th-century architecture such as the marble fireplaces, ornamental ceilings, stained glass windows and brick walls, the hotel features a magnifique – Parisian chic décor.
It also has its very own French bistro Café Louis serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the – partly separated from the main dining area – hotel bar you’ll find signature cocktails and tasty bites on the menu. And when the weather is in our favour, you can take a seat at the sunny front sided terrace.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved the canal views, the location and how we could go walking everywhere. It was a nice gesture from Roemer Hotel to take us on a taxi to the apartment. Even though the kitchen could’ve been better with a little more equipment, we had almost everything we needed. I wish the apartment was a little more clean, it was very important for us.
The neighborhood was safe, not noisy at all and it had restaurants, bike rental shops and supermarkets nearby, that was very handy. On the last day we could leave our luggage in Roemer Hotel after the checkout.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolute bargain. Spacious apartment overlooking the canal. More than enough space for a family of 4. Thoughtfully decorated. Full kitchen, modern bath, washer/dryer. 5 minute walk to the Rijk. Our apartment is a third floor walk-up which was a bit of a challenge with luggage but the charm of the place more than makes up for the stairs. If you want to feel like you live here, there's no better place to stay.
