β β β β β The invoiced gas bill for my car ride was three times what could reasonably be expected. I drove a rented Toyota Corolla (2020) from Maastricht to Nijmegen. The total distance was 146 km and I did not fill up the gas tank myself at the end, Europe car Nijmegen would do so. The next day I received the bill and I was surprised to find they had to fill the car with 12L of gasoline. This is three times the expected 1L : 30,3 km which it would run on average (taking city and highway into account) according to the licence plate check online. When I called costumer service at first they were kind and resonated with my feelings that somewhere something had gone wrong. The only logical explanation for me was they had not filled her up completely before renting it out in Maastricht by mistake or some bills had gotten mixed up, I would not think of deliberate fraud to have taken place. Costumer service would look into it. A couple days later I got in contact with costumer service again, however the tone had shifted. This time there was no understanding, but agitation: the gas bill was what it was, the milage I found running the licence plate was ludicrous and they were not in the car with me when I drove it. Which means my driving would make an energy-clean brand new 2020 hatchback do the same milage as a 2010 Volvo XC60 SUV. Since costumer service was a dead end I am now forced to pay the unpredicted 7 litres of extra gasoline at 1,94 euros a litre. I am really disappointed in the outcome. Since my previous experiences with Europe car have been great I would not have expected such a weird and dissatisfying discussion about milage with costumer service. I hope the kind of disapproving and agitated response I received on my questions does not reflect the moral code of costumer support at Europe car, but was just one employee having a bad day. To avoid such an experience in the future I will be renting my cars elsewhere.

Their IT systems are not the best, there was a minor problem with receiving the car due to some system error, a little misunderstanding with the final bill, but it was handled well.
