★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous food, so-so service.
Dont be fooled by the Bar in the name. This is no bar food. Food this good is found in much more expensive restaurants. The food is gorgeous: full of flavour, colourful and infused with the type of imagination you will only find in the top kitchens in Amsterdam. The kitchen is top.
However dinning is an experience and the service is so so and inexperienced. Bar-like. Our waitress found english too far a bridge to cross. Orders were mixed up and right in the middle of our dinning experience, their whole staff decided to have a staff meeting or handover. For Ten minutes we could not ask where our order was or how long it might take etc. Not acceptable.
If the service was polished and experienced, i would have to conclude, "No Doubt about Baut." Till then it only gets a three.

Would definitely recommend their 4 course menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was super crowded but I understand because the place is really good! The food is very impressive and delicious, only my salad was too salty. The staff was super kind and friendly. They did everything to accommodate our group of 6, even in a busy Friday evening.

Each course was served with and explanation and was perfectly cooked.
The staff were genuinely friendly and engaged in conversation as I was on my own and made the visit very special.
I shall definitely eat the again on a return visit to Amsterdam.
