★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fish was perfectly cooked. Lovely presentation for all dishes. Our neighbor’s steak also looked perfect and was served with fresh greens and some seasonal vegetables.
I will go back on my next visit to Amsterdam.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amsterdam is not renowned for good or friendly service, but Baret certainly bucks that trend with a team that were very friendly, attentive and fast.
We arrived to the restaurant without a reservation, but were quickly given a table, offered something to drink and given the menu to look at whilst our drinks were served.
The food was delicious, reasonably priced and well worth the visit. My friend enjoyed the vegetarian ravioli, I enjoyed their steak accompanied by a crisp green salad and their wine and beer choice was very good.
I'd definitely include Baret as one of my preferred places for a quiet business dinner.

The food and wine were really nice. The thai-inspired mussels were especially good. The waiter was very friendly without being pushy in any way. Asked whether Dutch or English was preferable and was very kind and jovial.
The prices are a bit on the middle-high side, especially if you get a bottle of wine like we did, but they are very much accessible for Amsterdam and the experience is worth the price.
