Boca's - Mauritsweg 43A

I thought the food was extremely expensive. We ordered the mixed dish and the big plate was mostly filled with bread and Edam cheese. I was expecting a choice of tapas, but no. The choice was very basic and I wouldnt go again. On a positive note, the waitress staff were very good, sweet and polite.

I've been at Bocas a couple of years ago. Told myself that I really needed to come back to this place because its an awesome laid back magnificent foody place. Staff is funny, friendly and the menu is great!

When we arrived we told the waiter that we would like to order a food sharing platter with some wine. The waiter told us the kitchen was closed after 11. We told him it was still 10 min before 23:00. So he went back to ask the kitchen whether they could still prepare the Boca's food platter, because the chef had already started cleaning the kitchen. We did say if it's closed it doesn't matter. Instead he told us the kitchen was able to take our order. For 35 euro, all we got was some premade anjovis, cheese, some toasted bread, and ground beef and a grilled steak... When he came over to our table, we told him we got a much better variation last time with different kind of snacks such as calamaris, croquettes. He said this was due to the fact the kitchen was closing down. What i really dont understand is that why do they take our order if you can't serve the right dish!!! After a while we saw that other tables who know the staff working there, did get free and better food served such as calamaris, croquettes etc... The staff also didnt pay any attention to our table anymore, they just sat down with their friends, when we were trying to find someone to get the bill.

Yesterday we arrived at Boca's with a group of 6 in a great happy mood around 22.45 o'clock. We ordered a bottle of wine and some other drinks. He came back with a Bottle of wine and 5 glasses, we were surprised that we needed to pour the wine ourselves. Beside the drinks we ordered the Boca platter, the waiter told us he wasn't sure if they are still able to serve some food as the kitchen is about to close. He went back to the kitchen to double check for us and came back with the good news, they only were able to serve us the Boca Platter medium size. We were totally happy and really appreciated his effort. Once the platter has been served, I was really disappointed and I did point this out straight away, as there was no fried calamari's nor bitterballen/bittergarnituren. The waiter confirmed again because the kitchen was closed they could not do any bitterganituren. Then he should have been honest and informed us about this fact and not promising us that they could do the Boca Platter medium size only. As I've been here before I know if you order a Boca platter you should get some bittergarnituren. The Boca platter medium for 35 euros, only contains some toasted bread, slices of cheese, anchovies, minced beef and some sliced beef. See the photo for the low-cost food we got served for 35 euros. We were totally stunned and upset by seeing them serving fried calamari's and croquettes to the table next to us once we finished our platter. We left Boca's totally unsatisfied and felt they have ruined our happy night. We will defiantly never ever come back to his place! Bad service and dishonest staff, totally waste of money and time to chill at this totally unprofessional place who called themselves a BAR?!

What a great restaurant! Was recommended by our local guide and we could quickly see why, great tapas of all kinds of flavours, my personal favourite was the bruschetta. The environment was welcoming, the service was good, the only thing that stopped me coming back every day was the cost

The food taste and the quality of Boca's is delicious. Service friendly correct and good timing. Top. Moreover is close to Central Station Rotterdam. Perfect place to stop by for a tapa or have a drink late with a very nice environment and awesome music at the background. Recommended for "Borrel hapjes" ;)

The food is ok but missing a bit of a twist given the price of the tapas plates. Good for sharing.

This place was really good. The service was as it should have been. Nice selection of beers and the food was really good. I didn’t think the price was that bad, tapas are never a cheap meal. I would go here again.
