Sinds 1792 zijn de juwelen van Bonebakker Juwelier een begrip in Amsterdam.

Met de zilveren sleutels van de stad Amsterdam, overhandigd aan Napoleon (1806) en een 491-delig zilveren tafelservies voor prins Willem II (1818), bevestigde Adrianus Bonebakker de faam die hij als goud- en zilversmid onder de Amsterdamse elite genoot.

Als hofleverancier smeedde Bonebakker degens voor de prinsen van Oranje, ontwierp serviezen voor het hof en vervaardigde hij in 1840 de koningskroon voor Willem II. De fameuze collectie sieraden van Anna Paulowna telde creaties van de hand van Bonebakker en tegenwoordig behoort ook zilver van Bonebakker tot de vaste collectie van Amsterdamse musea, waaronder het Amsterdam Museum en het Rijksmuseum. In no time at all Jannie and Aron had taken on board my vague request for a gift for my wife and transformed it into a fabulous diamond ring. Even better, this hand-made ring was ready in a few days and my wife absolutely loved it! Fabulous service and beautiful jewellery.
M	Martin G on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The shopping experience was brilliant up to the moment that I paid. Then 8 months later a stone fell out of my wife's engagement ring. When I took the ring back staff became confrontational and told me that if you drive a Rolls Royce against a tree it will break just like a Skoda. They also started repairing the ring before I had agreed costs with them. The whole experience was desperately disappointing. In future I will stick with Tiffany's even if the staff are less knowledgeable. Update: No repairs should be carried out without agreeing the cost with clients. The shop had no legal contract with me to carry out out repairs to the ring. They deprived me of the opportunity to have the remaining stones reset somewhere more competent. Their politician's response is clever in missing the point about their total lack of professionalism.

I never (and I mean never - this could have been the second time in 15 years) buy jewelry, I must have seemed like a complete novice, but Aaron (forgive me if I spell your name wrong) was incredibly attentive, polite, and gracious. I told him a story about how I met someone special but would have to be unfortunately leaving Amsterdam for a number of months due to work (hopefully to return), and I wanted to communicate the right message to this person that I had grown so fond of but was not 'official' with yet. He showed me a number of items in my budget (~500€, a significant purchase for me), we had a very pleasant conversation while I mulled the options over, he answered all of my questions, gave me insights and guidance for the decision process, and I finally settled on a delightful pair of earrings that were actually less than I had budgeted for. I am happy to report that they were very, very well received and I feel like if there is a chance for a relationship upon my return, Aaron / Bonebakker has helped those odds considerably. He even took the time to give me dinner recommendations, which turned out great. Thank you so much !! I would like to also mention that I walked in wearing a pair of black jeans, slightly dirty sneakers, a basic polo shirt and a rain jacket. At no point did I feel judged or like I was not welcome.

The store and its interior are an experience in itself, and the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. This kind of service and hospitality are seldom found at stores these days. As a typical man, who was only sure about the ring size, I was quite nervous about the whole endeavor. With a cup of coffee, and their experience and expertise, the staff took away my nervousness and helped me to find the perfect engagement ring. They made my engagement ring a few years back, and when it came to my wedding ring I was keen to have Bonebakker make it as well, but I had moved back to New Zealand. I contacted them and they were extremely helpful, they were able to design the ring and send me all the details via email. The wedding ring fits perfectly with my engagement ring and my husband is very happy with his wedding ring which he also ordered from Bonebakker at the same time. They did 3D CAD designs of the rings so we could see exactly what they would look like before ordering them. It only took a few days for the rings to arrive in New Zealand from Amsterdam, and the shipping cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Bonebakker for any jewellery design, they are professional and very friendly and make the most beautiful jewellery.
