★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not only was the food absolutely delicious (very fond of the small sharing portions), but the staff were super friendly and the cocktails were delicious - I'd highly recommend the Caribbean Paloma and Brazilian Batida. In fact, the food was so good I'd already eaten half before I even thought to take a photo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not good experience. We made an order, they double checked twice about it.
The was a lady who looked like she is relaxing at her house - a messy bun, home look like clothes.
And the things I didn't like the most - the glass she brought to me was dirty, and in my partner's glass there were some particles on fruits. Probably cut with a dirty knife. After the visit I have a throat irritation (now for 3 days)
The food was ok and prices too.
But I don't trust this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem! It is close to Westerpark, thus not exactly in the touristic area. The setting is cozy, colorful and very Caribbean. The swing outside was fun, too ;) Staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious (Jerk chicken, cooked plantain, yams, etc) .Their peanut butter based sauce was really yummy and they serve Red Stripe ;)
The prices are very cheap compared to other central restaurants which is a big plus.
Bootoe is a recommendation 100% and we will be happy to visit soon - thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the Caribbean ribs, really recommend this! Order some curly fries on the side and you won't go home hungry. Really friendly staff. One downside : we had to wait really long for our food. We got there around 5:45 pm and got our food around 7:15! We had an appointment afterwards so we had to rush a little bit. Otherwise : enjoy the company, the music, and have some cocktails.

So we were recommended this place by a friend as a really great Caribbean spot.
Nice atmosphere, clean dining area. The staff was friendly.
Unfortunately, it took a ridiculously long time to get food, over an hour for a not terribly busy night. Then when it did come out, they forgot to make one of the meals... Which took about another 30 minutes to come out and it turns out the order was still wrong.
Also, my Caribbean people, this is not the place. There was absolutely no spice on the three 'jerk' chickens that we ordered. Even for by the tasteless Dutch food standards there was no spice. Really disappointed coming to the taste... Like c'mon, it's jerk chicken, not baked chicken.
Bathrooms were super dirty as well. I don't know if this was a one night thing or not but was unfortunately disappointed by this place.
TL;DR: Nice staff, nice atmosphere, terrible, spiceless 'Caribbean' food. Sloooowww service. This is not a Caribbean place.
