J	John Belanger on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The more I visit, the more I appreciate De Fles. "Quirky" is an understatement. When you sit outside you're practically in the street and it's cramped to sit down. BUT pleasant, shabby-chic picnic. When you're inside, it's a tight little basement, you can enter through a window and you're almost sitting inside the glassed-in kitchen. BUT they treat you with warmth, humor. and openness. These are cool people who treat you right. The beer selection is limited, the place is small. But it's also the point. TRY IT.

The food is typical Dutch food, so might not match your preference. The staff is friendly, but there is a significant amount of waiting time. The food is above average in price, and the taste is also acceptable.

A	A dF on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been wanting to eat here for a while after having seen delicious looking dishes being served from a seriously open and pro looking kitchen ( when I came here for drinks a while ago ). The place has a lovely cozy traditional brown bar atmosphere with a kind of Belgium bistro twist. Loads of Belgium beers and an array of wines on offer. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. I wanted to love the food but unfortunately we were a little disappointed with the quality this time. The fries for example, were dark brown and seemingly over done. We saw other people’s fries later were more fresh... but being English and anti confrontation, we didn’t want to complain and assumed that’s just how they’re supposed to be. The Calimeri was good! But the batter a little crusty. The cod dish had an amazing salad and I liked the sauce but the fish itself was a bit bouncy and could’ve had a crispier edge. None of this matters as it’s all subjective except for the fries! It was a pleasant experience and we’d probably give it another go. The ribs looked great but I didn’t order them :/

G	Giacomo Santoro on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bistrot is by definition “a small, informal restaurant or a bar where food is served.” This place presents itself as a “bistrot, bar, cafè”, so we decided to reserve a table to have some drinks, considered that during covid most places request it in order to better manage everything. Yet, after a couple of beers, the owner comes to us and angrily asks us to order some food because we made a reservation to have dinner (not true) and that he is losing money having a table occupied just for drinks (yet we were the only people sitting in the whole place). He tells us the this is something that always happens with “expats” and this is the “Dutch way” to do things. After this unpleasant conversation we stand up, pay and leave. What a childish and inappropriate behaviour. I guess he preferred to earn 0 euro than the money he would get just for some beers.
