Linked to European inteligentzia in the Enlightenment, received RenΓ© Descartes in the castle, where he lived for four years

β β β β β The Doors were open so we went inside.
There was nobody, but the rooms are nice and the toilets worked well.
Only downside is that they are now out of toilet paper

β β β β β A nice bike ride away from Leiden city center. The grounds are very small but the castle has nice architecture and is great for sketching.

β β β β β As I was walking in the green area North of Oegstgeest, I was somewhat surprised at the sight of this beautiful castle from the 17th century :-). I didn't know we could enter the cour and have a better idea of the whole place, but next time I won't miss it.
