Cotto & Mangiato - Grote Markt 19

My mom and I recently went out for dinner to this pizza parlor on a Thursday night. We sat down at a table on their terrace and started off with ordering our drinks. Since it was quite a busy night, it took them a while to get to our table, but so far so good. After ordering our dishes we had a two hour time lapse between our entry course and our main courses during which we got to witness a hysterical mental breakdown from the owner which manifested itself by uncontrollable episodes of crying and complaining about how enslaving her business is to her and how she will not be able to keep up for much longer. She also did not bother to complain about her staff in front of everybody to some of the recurring clients. Her emotions then really got the better of her when she plainly humiliated one of the younger and more inexperienced waitresses by snatching both dishes she was carrying with her out of her hands while simultaneously yelling at her. After this sequence we also got to see how other customers who came in after us were served first. And when she finally appeared to have come to her senses a little we asked her to check for our order nicely, only to be sneered at with the words “piano piano”. So instead of stepping up to the plate and taking some responsibility for running a business we had to put up with the owner’s theatrical performance along with her condescending and childish behavior towards both customers and staff members for two hours long without even having had our main courses served. What a horrendous ordeal. We are definitely not coming back, regardless of the food being quite tasty and well-priced. What a shame.

The best pizza in town. No joke!

This is one of the best Italian restaurant we have ever been to! The establishment is small and cosy with seating on two floors and with an open kitchen. Toilets are spotlessly clean! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Prices are very fair for the high quality food served. Don't hesitate to visit this establishment if you want great food at a fair price and served by professional staff. We will be back!

Nice restaurant in the town centre. Food is typically Italian, with a wide choice of pastas, pizzas, appetizers and main dishes. Pizzas were possibly not the best I have tried, but still good. Prices are low for the Netherlands. Staff were courteous and funny. We did not have problems paying with credit card.

Food is so so. The anti-pasti misto platter is nice. We were charged 5 euros for tap water even though we ordered a large carafe of wine. When asked, the waitress said it's 'normal' which is NOT. I also told her it's not a problem to pay ( we even gave a tip) but at least inform us that Tap water cost so much. I might as well pay abit more to get San Pellegrino. The worst part is that the waitress went to complain to the kitchen about my tap water comment and they tried to do the Italian thing by talking loudly about 1 euro for tap water so on and so for...very unprofessional. As mentioned, food was ok. No salt and pepper on the table and the pasta was over cooked. The cream was also breaking up. As for the dessert, the Leece special cake was tasteless, saving grace was the lemon sauce which is not alot. The traditional tiramisu fared better. The restaurant decor may look bright and welcoming but I don't recommend it. Not worth it. Especially the way they indirectly insult you... And suddenly they all can speak English when insulting. Most likely like previous bad reviews below, I'll get a nasty response but it is what it is. You guys could read it and judge before going.

Best italian in Schiedam! Takes me back to my holidays in Italy!! True authentic taste andd really good people there.. will come back soon! ❤❤

I have eaten here Three times in the last couple of weeks. The food is great, staff friendly and the bill more than reasonable. If the weather is fair the seating outside offers a pleasant ambiance in this cosy corner of the city.

Such a lovely place, with great food and service. I had a parma ham pizza which was simply amazing. The waitress was extremely friendly too. Definitely recommend.
