Dara - Grote Koppel 5

Good, fresh, refined and accessible food. LOVE coming here for the mezze-lunch. My absolute favourite place, I wish I could visit more often. Highly recommended!! Oh, and definitely takes allergies and such into account! Big bonus for whom that matters for!

First things first, the service here is impeccable, the ambiance and interior design is amazing, the food is okay and reasonably priced. For about 25E per head you receive this lovely spread(see pic) with a mountain of Turkish bread. Nice beers on the menu, and free cold water continually refreshed. Now for the concept, they introduce it as 'Mare Nostrum based' but in reality it is a fusion of general asian and 'ottolenghi-esque' foods. The starter they serve is called 'taramasalata', and ignoring the spelling error this (albeit delicious) dish shows in a nutshell what is still wrong with this restaurant. Taramas literally means fish roe, while the dish is a cream of whitefish. For the rest of the mezedes/tapas, it was a truly eclectic mix. Two curries that suffered from overenthousiastic use of lemongrass that overpowered the dishes, an eggplant dish that was just... wrong. Wellprepared eggplant should be creamy and almost honey-like in taste, but this experience was like taking a bite of your grandmother's leather boots. A type of parsley salad? was okay, just a bit bland. The blandness was a little bit of a theme unfortunately. The raw salmon and charred beef dish were very very good. What i think would make this place even better, is letting go of the Asian side of the menu and focussing on Northern African, Ottoman and Middle Eastern cuisine. Acually familiarizing themselves with the ingredients and techniques applied in these cuisines, hell maybe hire a chef from these places to advise you. A sprinkle of pomegranate does not a Mediterranean dish make.

Nice restaurant / bar very close to the town center. Great beer selection and a very nice terrace overlooking the river. Parking and public transport are nearby. All in all a great destination for people wanting to escape the busy city.

Delicious, creative food in a nice restaurant wirt numerous tables outside with view on the river. We enjoyed charming, very attentive service. Great place to eat and enjoy a warm summer evening!

Lovely food, really nice spot! The menu could be a little more varied. Must come again in the spring/summer to enjoy the terra e with the great view!

Nice coffee and nice tapas. Service was polite and nice. Though toilets is not for 20weeks plus pregnant women? (toilets to low on the female part). All around a good place!

We had an early dinner at Dara. We got table on the terrace. The service was polite and very helpful. Food was really tasty. However some of the meat and fish mezzes I found little bit small portioned for their price. . But all together we were happy and left with smile on our face

I haven't eaten this good in such a nice restaurant in a while! Service was great and very friendly! Food was delicious and they have more then two veggie options (and not just goat cheese with walnut and honey) and the dessert was devine. Also the restaurant itaelf looked so so nice. It was open and spacious, but also romantic. Really enjoyed our stay here
