★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to eat raw herring (Hollandse Nieuwe) at around €2 per stick, fried codfish at €4-6 from the stalls along the street. You can also choose to eat at Cafe/restaurants at higher price of course, where you get to seat.
There is a cheese factory free for visiting and for cheese tasting.
You can also get a boat ride there to hop to Marken, at €8/way or €13.75 for returns trip.
The only downside is this place is pretty pack with tourist.

Many souvenir shops along the road. And one of the best seafood, I was told.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the most scenic and serene places to visit. Clearly below the sea level you can appreciate the artistic architecture and it's rich heritage. The people are very nice and polite. One need to visit the cheesecake factory. Shopping here is a must

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a lovely location w/ cozy restaurants. The view over the water never bores. Lovely to stroll around (it is a small location so it's not a long walk). In general the locals are very friendly, I always like to visit this area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Volendam should in the top 5 places to visit in Netherlands ..it's so picturesque and a magnificent town for someone to visit. Walk along the harbor and take sit in any of the cafe restaurants , even a boat tour.. An easy 5!
