Ik kwam met weinig verwachtingen want de jas van mijn vriend was erg beschadigd. Maar de vriendelijke dame keek er goed na en er is een wonder gebeurd: de jas is helemaal hersteld. Fantastisch. Ik raad iedereen aan om voor reparatie naar de Schaar te gaan.
En het is ook een èchte Amsterdamse winkel die er al sinds mijn kinderjaren zit.

I came with few expectations as my friend's coat was badly damaged. But the kind lady looked after it carefully and a miracle happened: the coat has been completely restored. Fantastic. I recommend everyone to go to the Scissors for repair.
And it is also a real Amsterdam store that has been there since my childhood.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ik breng altijd mijn kleding naar de schaar. Ik was vroeger bij andere kleermakers die of heel duur of heel slordig waren. Ik koop altijd designer-kleding op internet. Vaak moet dat aangepast worden. Dit gebeurt zo professioneel, dat mijn dochter in New York gevraagd werd of ze een maat kostuum had. (Jasje door de Schaar kleiner gemaakt, schouders ingenomen etc.). Ik ben super tevreden, ook nadat ik verhuisd ben en niet meer in de buurt woon, breng ik mijn kleding hier heen. Beste kleermaker die ik ken!
I always take my clothes to the scissors. I used to be with other tailors who were either very expensive or very sloppy. I always buy designer clothes on the internet. This often has to be adjusted. This is done so professionally that my daughter in New York was asked if she had a custom suit. (Jacket made smaller by the Scissors, shoulders taken in, etc.). I am super satisfied, even after I have moved and no longer live in the area, I bring my clothes here. Best tailor I know!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The employees of this place are the most irresponsible people I have ever know! They claim they can tailor fancy dresses but it is a lie! I took a dress there to do the hem. It only needed to be shortened a bit but the "tailor" ruined the dress. He left the dress too short for me, the top chiffon layer shorter than the underneath layer! and even the back of dress shorter than the front! These people simply do not know anything about clothes. I could have done it better myself. The woman who attends the place had measured me, and I thought she was the tailor, but she is not. The tailor is another man who works there. She was trying to fool me when I went to pick up the dress saying that I had asked for a short dress because it was for a party on the beach!!!!!! So, they are liars. Don't take your clothes there.
