β β β β β I went to 5 previous places in an attempt to cut a copy of my flat key. First 4 couldn't help, 5th cut me a key that didn't work, tried to get a new copy and they told me that it had to be a funny key. Went here after being referred. Gentleman took one look at the key, grabbed a blank, cut it and gave me a price cheaper than all 5 prior. All in all was done in less than 1 minute and I now have a perfectly cut copy.
Will never go elsewhere again.

β β β β β I read the reviews and sure enough the guy was cold and made me feel like an inconvenience, BUT he got both keys made in about 3 minutes and he charged 15 euro. Both keys worked. So in the end don't come here for the service, come here for some quick key work.

β β β β β It is not within my nature to complain about the service from shop attendants, but this time I feel an urgent need to get this case off my mind. I needed to have a couple of duplicate keys made so started off by searching the internet for a lock and key shop and so chose this one because of its location. The shop's internet site says, the shop opens at 11am. Well, a gentleman/shop attendant arrived at 11am to open up. He started off by unlocking things, getting himself ready for business, putting signs outside the shop front, preparing his till and generally not being at all customer orientated. It was as if he didn't even acknowledge my presence or that of the other customer who, by the way seemed somewhat taken aback too by the unfriendly attitude of the shop attendant. Never ever have I experienced such negativity from a person who serves the public. Once the other customer was done with his purchases, he paid and left. Then it was my turn to be served. With a kind of a "grunt" the shop attendant inquired what I wanted to which I explained that I need to have 2 keys made. My request was taken up, the keys made and was told what the costs came to. During that entire process, not a word - leave alone a friendly word - of any sorts was communicated. It felt rather intimating. I can only conclude that I will never go back to the Sleutelkluis on the Kinkerstraat again.

β β β β β The keys were made quickly and really well! I struggled with the customer service though. When I came the day before to ask about my problem, I was rudely cut off in the middle of a question and the salesman didnβt even listen apparently because he asked me for something that I had mentioned. When I came the day after to get the keys fixed he was watching a video on his phone, looked up to me and continued watching his video for a minute. Very good key service, but will definitely not return for the customer service.

β β β β β Worst customer service ever (Kinkerstraat 65) should call him: The rudest guy in the corner shop instead of his name.
Totally truth about the price in the previous reviews. Crazy expensive and depends on the day or person who servs you. They are lucky to be the only locksmith around otherwise "AVOID" this place. Be aware to ask the price before the keys are done.

β β β β β It seemed my service experience varied by whomever helped me. This is a franchise in Amsterdam. I have paid different amounts for the same keys several times. I started going to the other key maker down the street....but he also charged random prices the second time! lol
The point is, get a price BEFORE they make your keys. That's the only way they know you're not willing to pay whatever they decide.
Bottom line though, their keys were very nice. Solid, good metal and worked perfectly.
They also have nice safes and other locks in there. Great location and love the yellow lights and exterior.

β β β β β Experts in being the most rude with the fewest amount of words. At least theyβre efficient.
Asked the frumpy lady for a copy of two very standard keys. A flat βNoβ. Asked why. βI have many keys. Do you see this type of key?β
No need to be so snappy for asking a key cutter to...huge shock...cut a key. The guy ahead of me walked too after she was equally as rude.
Would rather be locked out than go back there.

β β β β β The rudeness level via customer service/phone is unbelievable and not helpful in any manner. I decided to pay even more (than 100euro for mailbox keys) to different key company and get normal human interaction and service. Shame for winkel in such international neighborhood.
