Hij is gelegen aan het Molenbolwerk. Naar verluidt zouden zich hier nog fluistergangen bevinden. De hoogte van de stelling (omloop) bedraagt acht meter. De vlucht (de lengte van de wieken) is 24,26 meter. De molen beschikt over twee koppelmaalstenen. De molen is tot in de jaren '30 in bedrijf geweest, zij het de laatste jaren met een gasmotor. Na 1940 raakte de molen zwaar in verval. In 1944 werd de stelling gesloopt. Tot overmaat van ramp sloeg in 1954 de bliksem in en brak er brand uit. Dankzij de inzet van het toenmalige gemeentebestuur kon de molen in 1956 worden gerestaureerd. Door deze restauratie werd de molen uitwendig in oude glorie hersteld en kreeg de naam Stadsmolen. Hij was immers eigendom van de stad. In 1976 besloot de gemeenteraad om de molen, waaraan zich enkel ernstige gebreken hadden geopenbaard, te laten restaureren. Deze restauratie werd in 1979 afgerond. Sinds 1984 wordt aan de Stadsmolen jaarlijks onderhoud gepleegd. In 1992 werden opnieuw restauratiewerkzaamheden uitgevoerd. Mooie groene omgeving en heb zodoende toch wat mooie foto's kunnen nemen. Very beautiful old mill. Een leuke plek om te verblijven. Vlakbij het water van de slotgracht, al is het niet aan te raden daar in te gaan zwemmen. Beautiful old mill, surprisingly so suddenly on the old city wall.
