Short version: DO NOT RECCOMEND! They normally polite in tone, have nice locations and generally reply fast to emails. BUT they have bad service, make problems out to be your fault, blame things are out of their control, ask for fees you are not legally obliged to pay (contract fees etc), Did not repair a serious leak for 4 months, do not give services as promised, do not fix issues properly and have badly maintained properties. (Details in longer elaboration) If one says anything they come back with counter accusations that are all false. Such as asking me not to tamper with things, I want them things in my home running properly. It was not just bad service, it caused me a lot of stress to run back from classes to mop of leaks or be told I was wrong when actually I have the legal right to an issue. If you plan to rent from them, I recommend knowing your legal rights and procedure. That way, you can demand action be taken as legally necessary so that they actually act. Only when I came in person and threatened rent reduction did they finally fix a large leak in my house permanently (4 months no results!) Do your research and talk to free legal service such as the leidserechtswinkel to ensure you know how and where to hold them accountable before things escalate and do not be nice, it won't pay off. Longer version and extra details: They charged me 125 euro cleaning fee and when I had to clean myself, they then told me I had to take the clean at a later time, insisting I had to take a service I no longer wanted or needed, or was the same since I had to put my stuff in. Perhaps they told the landlord it was done when it was not. Imagine moving into a dirty place and being charged a cleaning fee ( they admitted that no clean had been done). A later clean is irrelevant when I sorted my own cleaning I shouldn't have to suffer for their incompetence. I left the place in a condition far better than I received it in. - They didn't fix a dangerous leak in my house for around 4 months. They knew about this before I moved in and I asked them to repair it, it still wasn't done! I had to regularly come home in between classes and wipe water away and keep electronics far away. And people would come by to try and repair or check without informing me before hand. Contracts do technically say it is allowed when necessary but frankly I believe some human decency of informing is not hard. - The house was old and badly maintained paint was literally peeling of sometimes, skirting was wonky and out of place and the floor itself was uneven. It was a central location which was very nice and convenient. But they know that people need places and like good locations and therefore aren't held accountable. They know if you don't want the place and aren't willing to do what they want, someone else will. I enjoyed the location but if it had meant better management, I would have chosen a less central location. - The communication between landlords, handymen and the agency seemed to be very bad. They would book handymen to come over and they would sometimes not turn up and other times show up unannounced. Having many 5 and 1 star reviews with little in the middle is suspicious and I know for a fact that a person who works there has left a 5 star review. Far better to provide consistently good service to start with.

Really a shame, took them months to come fix problems, even after being contacted several times. the space wasn't clean when my friend moved in, but she was charged a hefty fee for domica 'cleaning' the apartment before. the facilities were there, but didn't always function, and it wasn't worth the price she paid for it. so far i've only written my friend's experience because she lived in a domica house for much longer than i have, since the house i live in was sold to another landlord (without much notice, a contract change, and most details) and that wasn't really that fun either. My doorbell did not work when i moved in, and after asking them to fix it i eventually got an email they had a spare one at their office and i could come pick it up, and i'd have to install it myself with no knowledge on how to do that. In the hall, Domica had hung a paper with their number and an emergency number to call in case we'd need to contact them, but when we tried it, both numbers seemed to have been out of use for months, in any case long before i moved in. the reason we needed to call them, was because one day i got back from uni, and the door was painted over, and the lock changed, i could only get inside because the door was open. this was done without any prior notice and we had to call a locksmith ourself to come and change the lock again. after these incidents, i'd recommend doing your research and knowing your rights before moving to a Domica house. Also, since you felt the need to shame me for calling you out, this absolutely does involve me, and her issues most definitely were your problem, which you refused to fix, i think you're the party that should be ashamed

Very friendly and professional staff. Emailed them while looking for an apartment in the centre of Leiden and they replied quickly with an option. Upon inspection, the apartment was just as advertised. Very satisfied!

I have been living in one of the apartments, and so far everything turned out to be very good. The agency provides a quick response to any query. There was a minor issue with the electricity connection which was fixed pretty quickly. Great job!!. I very much recommend them.
