Spanje aan de Gracht
Bij El Borne vinden wij dat de echte Spaanse tapas een mooi plekje in Nederland verdient. Daarom zijn wij te vinden aan de prachtige gracht van Utrecht. De centrale locatie met een prachtig terras zorgt samen met de overheerlijke tapas voor het perfecte plaatje. Ook als het weer minder is kunt u binnen proeven van de Spaanse delicatessen.
Ook vinden wij het belangrijk dat onze gasten, zoals gebruikelijk in het mediterraanse gebied, tot in de late uurtjes kunnen eten en drinken. Onze keuken is daarom open van vier tot half elf. Zo kunt u ook uitgebreid de tijd nemen om te dineren en goede verhalen te delen met vrienden of familie. Het mooie aan tapas is namelijk dat er gedeeld wordt. Het eten op het midden van de tafel is van iedereen eromheen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ That was by far the worst food experience in my life. The food was not only tasteless. It seemed as if they didn’t have a cook and it was all microwaved. The service was also feeling very awkward. Clearly the management needs to put much more effort as the location is not enough. To the owner of the place: please change the menu as your place does not serve real tapas. Put an actual effort, pay an actual cook, treat your employees better and renovate the whole guest experience as clearly your guests are highly disappointed!!! Honestly I am worried of possible food poisoning after this experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waiter was incredibly rude, he told us it was mandatory to order at least 3 dishes of tapas per person, while we just wanted to order one or two to share. This was not indicated on the menu or anywhere else. After we decided to just have a drink, he told us we only had 10 minutes to finish our drinks since it was a 'restaurant'.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food isn’t the best ; the food were dry and also the order got mixed up too . Couldn’t pay by card since their payment system was broken ; so handy to keep some cash if you visit them . They were accommodative in taking our request to make a place outside near the canal .. an extra star for that . Overall very bad food .. there are much better places in Utrecht where you wouldn’t be disappointed with the food …

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only thing that is good is the beer, they make you take 3 Tapas minimum and if you say that you only want the beer the waiters get mad! They even dont bring you the bill and the food is not really spanish

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst restaurant ever. It looks nice since its busy and close to the water but don’t be tempted. (Unless you want to have a fun story like we had). Terrible service, the waiter was just plain rude, we got dry bread, ordered 3 tapas to share and then got told we HAD to order more. Waiter pointed out the advice on the menu and said it was a house rule. We said no. Should’ve left by then but we were really hungry. Girls next to us complained their sangria tasted like soap. Lesson learned: check google reviews before eating out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is perfect and if I had read the reviews here before going, I probably wouldn't have gone to this incredible place. The chairs are very comfortable, I drank great sangria, the service was excellent with the waiters, I ate the best paella of my life (I ordered the meatless option, only seafood and vegetables), the churros were delicious too! Beautiful, delicious food, fair price and I will definitely recommend it to many people

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food wasn't good at all. Service OK-ish. Ordered Spanish tortilla and got a little plate with some potatoes, peppers and and egg on top (photo below) .. Coming hot from the oven... What??? After telling them twice, the replies were pretty much "I don't know what is tortilla or I did not cook it myself". And 6 euros for that. The Patatas bravas were bravely boiled instead of fried ?♀️ basics cannot be done.. I sat there bec of the location.. Shame I did not check Google reviews earlier! Just don't order in here... I am Spanish by the way.
