Deze vijftiende-eeuwse poort geeft je toegang tot het kaarsrechte stratenplan van dit bijzondere vestingstadje. Van bovenaf gezien is Elburg bijna perfect vierkant. Kijk tijdens je wandeling door de markante straten en pittoreske steegjes ook naar beneden, dan zie je een ander karakteristiek kenmerk van Elburg: keitjesstoepen. Stoepen gemaakt van talloze witte en zwarte keitjes Water is een belangrijk element in en rond Elburg. De vissersstad floreerde vroeger aan de Zuiderzee. Dat veranderde in 1932 door de bouw van de Afsluitdijk en de komst van de Flevopolder. The Vischpoort is the characteristic front door of Elburg. L	Lilian Prins on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Zeer gezellig centrum, zeker in de zomer is het gezellig druk en goed vertoeven. In de wintermaanden wat rustiger, maar nog steeds leuk om er wat rond te lopen. Zeker een rondje om de vesting heen. Very pleasant center, especially in the summer it is pleasantly busy and a good place to stay. A bit quieter in the winter months, but still nice to walk around. Definitely a tour around the fortress.

En mooie huizen winkeltjes gerestaureerd zo als het vroeger was. De oude stads wallen zijn nog in takt. En van de verdedigingswerken is ook het meeste ook nog in takt. Ook heb je daar Botterwerf/ Museum. Met alle kennis van de houten Botters die ze vroeger hadden en nu nog varen De botter EB15 wordt nu gerestaureerd daar kan gaan kijken hoe dat gedaan wordt. Parkeren kan op de nabij gelegen parkeerplaats. In corona time. Visited Elburg branch. A beautiful town with many remaining parts of the old fortress. And beautiful houses shops restored as it used to be. The old city walls are still intact. And most of the defenses are also still intact. You also have Botterwerf / Museum there. With all the knowledge of the wooden Botters they used to have and still sail today The botter EB15 is now being restored and you can see how that is done. You can park in the nearby parking lot.
C	Cees Boom on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Erg leuke oude Hanzestad. Zeker een bezoek waard. Tip: doe een stadswandeling zodat je alle historische gebouwen ziet. Gratis parkeren net buiten de stad! Very nice old Hanseatic city. Well worth a visit. Tip: do a city walk so that you see all the historic buildings. Free parking just outside the city!

Very cozy and atmospheric town. Harbor, beautiful city wall! Beautiful facades with all kinds of shops underneath. Don't forget the fish! Boating (botters).
