My experience here were great! The lady who worked for 30 years in Europcar was very friendly and provided all the information I needed. Her colleague helped me check the car and explained some functionalities. I booked a VW Golf (or similar level) then received a SEAT Toledo with an even larger trunk! Very convenient for our 3 luggage. I returned the car on Sunday when the office was closed, but there was a little box to put the keys in. And I received the correct invoice on Monday with exactly what I should pay for. No surprises. So I guess the previous bad reviews came from: 1. rules changes 2. personnel differences 3. mutual trust, at least I wasn't asked to provide a bank account information. Only my ID and driver's license. Therefore I could definitely recommend this local office to other travelers. No risks.

The person responsible was rude and completely unhelpful. Even though we had booked for a car the day before we could not rent it due to regulations he made out of his imagination ( suddenly EU Id card was not enough identification, EU driver's license as well). The whole environment was unfriendly and with a hint of racism. Definitely not recommended, go to Hertz instead.

The service provided was overall good; car in excellent conditions and relatively cheap. However, in my final receipt, I was charged with an invoice for not having filled the tank, corresponding to 6L of additional fuel (12€). Which made me curious, since I had filled the tank just before returning the car. When calling to the manager (?), he explained to me that you need to leave a receipt in the car with the invoice from the gas station. As I said that this had not been clearly explained to me before, he rudely answered that they had been doing the job for 30 years and every other customer had understood this (except for me, apparently). Which is not the case, since I can see from the reviews that I am not the only person complaining about this. Now, letting alone that I am genuinely curious about how they managed to put 6 extra liters in a full tank, and that I may have not followed the right procedure, still I was treated unpolitely and aggressively. I warmly recommend improving your customer policy since I am not the first person to complain (see other reviews) and being clearer about this particular condition upon renting. For (future) customers, expect to be overcharged for either 1) leaving the tank not full or 2) leaving them to fill it.

I rented the car one day before my appointment. The stuff helped me a lot through out all the process. My car was updated into a upper class without any additional cost. On the return, they also helped me to print out some personal documents with pleasure. Thanks for everything.

Very helpful staff. However didn't show us properly how to use car, but I believe if we would have asked they would help us. U Can leave your car keys in the drawer after opening hours. Don't forget to bring car with full tank.

Helpful staff at this location but be warned you might not get the car you ordered here. I asked for an suv for a similar class as a skoda kariq with 521 liters of boot space and ended with an opel with 350 liters of boot space. This really makes things a lot more difficult for us.

We were a regular customer of Europcar in Enschede for more than 5 years before moving to Utrecht. Since moving here, we booked a rental from here twice in November. My husband and brother-in-law (who was visiting us from India) went to pick up the car. The first time, when we asked them to add our brother-in-law as a co driver, they said no since his Indian drivers license looks fake (also not in a friendly manner). We had to accept because the final decision is theirs. The second time, again with our brother-in-law, we asked them again about adding him as a co-driver and the person at the counter said it looks like the license was made on the road! This person was extremely unfriendly and I think the racist undertone of this comment is pretty evident. We had read about the really bad reviews of this branch of Europcar but still decided to give them a chance since we were a regular customer of Europcar in Enschede and were happy there. After this incident, we will not be going back. You should be treating your paying customers with more respect.
