Choosing for Expat Portal was the WORST DECISION EVER! they try to lure you with cheaper prices. We found an apartment according to our wishes. The company employee informed us that the deposit would be 1 month's rent, there were no other costs besides the service fee and that the apartment would cost € 1300 excl. She said if we really wanted the apartment we should cancel our current contract as soon as possible. We were very enthusiastic and decided to do so immediately. When we received the contract we turned out to pay 250 euros in contract costs, 1400 euros excl. And 2 months rent deposit instead of 1. As a result, we would have lost more than 2000 euros more on an annual basis. In the end we had no choice because we had already given up our current apartment and we would otherwise be homeless. The owner said she always rented with a 2-month deposit and that she also always worked with contract costs. She indicated that these are the errors of Expat Portal and that I had to solve it with them. We agreed that the key handover would take place in any case. In the meantime, I couldn't work it out with Expat Portal: they couldn't find a fair solution. I told them that I did not think it was right that I still had to pay a service fee, given the fact that because of their mistakes I had 2000 euros more in costs per year. Less than 10 minutes later (after the owner of Expat Portal stopped responding to my messages) I received a message that the key handover was canceled. The owner of Export Portal then no longer responded to my messages and apparently did not mind that we were without an apartment. Expat Portal tries to attract you with cheaper prices, so that you have to pay the real amount during the key transfer (because otherwise you have nothing). If you don't, they won't come up with another HONEST solution and try to screw it up for you with the owner. Even after these 3 big mistakes, they still wanted to make money from us. Don't fall for it! and take it from me, go to another company. Expat Portal are thieves of your own wallet.
