β β β β β This former Dutch reformed church is now a museum. The hours are somewhat restricted, but worth a visit. Free to get in, if you pay a a mere 2 Euros, you can get a guided tour up the bell tower. It is not for the faint of heart. When you get up to the top, you can walk around the ledge outside - do't worry there is a railing. But you will marvel at the ingenuity of the workmen who built all this (twice*) without the aid of modern machinery.
*It suffered a fire and the bell tower crashed down into the church, knocking down about 60% of it. They rebuilt it.

β β β β β Incredibly huge brick-made church, very impressive in such a small city such as Edam.
Could not go in by the time of visit.

β β β β β Really beautiful church. It's not restored like new, which is something I really liked about it. It feels huge for Edam and the stained glass was well-explained. We were not able to go into the tower, which was disappointing.

β β β β β Free to enter and a tour only costs 2 euros, which goes all the way to the top of the bell tower. This huge 600-year-old church has impressive woodwork and a lot of detail, with huge stained glass windows and nearly-ancient family graves below your feet. Be sure to check out when they are open before visiting!
Free parking up to 4 hours nearby. Good food downtown.

β β β β β Unusually large and light church, from the 16th century. We got a pleasant private guiding, e.g., to the old library. They have a small cafΓ© and used books for sale inside.
