About Hola Poke - Hawaiian Poke Bowls
Poke, pronounced Poh-Keh is a Hawaiian word that means “to slice or cut into pieces” it was originally made by Hawaiian fishermen. Influenced by Asian cuisine, they would combine raw fish from their catch with seaweed and serve it on a bed of rice.
Authentic Hawaiian poke is raw, marinated fish served over rice, topped with fresh vegetables.
That’s exactly how we do it at Holá Poke. You can customize your own bowl and choose from a variety of healthy toppings and tasty sauces to go with our marinated raw salmon, tuna, shrimp, octopus or tofu.
Raw fish is a delicacy on its own and is a key ingredient in many regional cuisines. Almost every food culture has its own raw fish dish with a variety of different preparation and flavors.
Japan has chirashi and sashimi, Latin America has ceviche, Italy has crudo, the Philippines has kinilaw, Scandinavia has gravlax. Hawaii has poke.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Bowls, so I already tried various different Poke Bowls, and the one I had at the Hola Poke Store was one of the best.
Large enough Bowl to eat, extra sauce and a good amount of meat and vegetables, so I had a great mix of rice, meat and vegetables.
The only Thing missing for me were some nuts oder cashews as a topping.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best place i have ever been. Kind staff and the food. Never had a pokeball in my life. Came all the way from Groningen to eat here and totally worth it. The food is fresh healthy and all home made. You can even create your own. I had one with shrimps and all the proteins are prepared with herbs and spices. Glad this one was my first one. Tip try the juices home made with love.
