It is necessary to order through your smartphone to select what you want to eat and some dishes' icons are missing, the service is slow and an order wasn't received by their system even though payment was made. A positive note is the location, very nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place for coffee and cake or lunch in Leiden! The atmosphere is relaxed and so pretty with all the greenery inside.
We stumbled upon this little gem while exploring the city. It is situated in a glass greenhouse in the hortus botanical garden. We had the 'mini high tea' for 8.5 per person. It included drinks: any coffee, tea, cuppacino ect. With a lovely fresh orange juice and a jug of water. This was served with a tasting platter of 4 cakes. We had cheesecake, carrot cake, apple pie and date tart. All four of these were absolutely amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing Dutch brunch meets nature. Hortus Grand Cafe is a beautiful compliment to the Botanical Gardens. It is a space that caters for all; staffed with humble laid-back Dutch. The cafe can get busy. Once seated, menus are available in English and Dutch and offer a wide range of options.

There are several options for sweets or sandwiches. We did not try any but they looked good.
