β β β β β I would definitely recommend this hotel. It's a decent and good hotel. The best part is that the staff is very helpful and friendly and they value people. Definitely my first choice, next time I visit Amsterdam.

β β β β β Very basic, and if like myself, you're lucky enough to be allocated a top floor room, rock climbing NVQs would be an advantage! Rooms are small, but clean. A slight issus with the plumbing, toilets can smell a little. Shower is nice and hot with no lack of power. Staff are really friendly and warm.

β β β β β While the room is clean enough and the price was "more" affordable than other places to stay, there are a few flaws. First, the floor feels like it has water damage and it easily pressed down. This makes me think their could be a mold problem. Secondly, the staircase is extremely steep and narrow.
On the bright side, the location is decent and it was well kept aside for the structural damage to the floor

β β β β β The building was built in 1893 and because of that, the stairs are quite odd (I thought It is funny), and it has a little smell due to the old pipes, but not a thing that would prevent me to return.
The guys at the hotel are awesome and have a very welcoming attitude.
The mattress could be a little better and the wifi doesn't have a good signal at the 3rd floor though

β β β β β Thank goodness for Kap! We made a very last minute reservation at Hotel Kap after a problem at our intended hotel in Amsterdam. The staff was extremely helpful in getting us a reservation with minutes notice and made the experience far less unpleasant after we were already stressed out.
We stayed in two different rooms; the first was tiny but serviceable (external bathroom) but then moved to a very spacious room with 4 single beds and a large updated bathroom. Nothing special but no complaints as it was very comfortable. We had no trouble with noise. The stairs are narrow and extremely steep but that seemed to be the case with most buildings in the city!
The location is great, steps from the metro (we had the iAmsterdam card which included public transportatation so it worked out great), close to museums, and an easy walk to the touristy center.

β β β β β Affordable, clean, close to everything. The staff is extremely nice. The rooms are small and the stairs are very steep but that's the Amsterdam charm. You won't be staying in your room though, to much to see in Amsterdam and to little time.

β β β β β Lovely for what it was. Front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. Location is excellent. Great views from the room. Nice and updated bathroom. No elevator or AC FYI. Will stay there again!
