This time we chose the "verrassing” menu.
It works like that :
You tell them what you prefer and what you don't like( raw or deep cook, allergies or things to avoid) and the Chef comes with a surprise menu. You don't know what you are going to eat before you get the plate.
It feels like home and you can have a nice time in the hearth of Utrecht.
Tip: if you want some privacy in the hot busy summer days you can have a cozy place indoor ( almost empty and looks great)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended for their warm, inviting atmosphere and amazing tasting menu. Great stories behind the dishes and you won’t regret a visit if you’re out of town! Call for a reservation, as it can get busy quick. Always a good decision :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an excellent experience during our stay. Our room’s space and organization is excellent and one of the best I’ve seen in Europe. The 18th century hotel is very well kept and the rooms have been recently renovated. The location is ideal. Check-in was easy. Our room was very quiet. It might be difficult for some people to access the rooms since there’s no elevator.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the 5 course surprise menu with several matching wines, food and wine pairing was very good and the staff very knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. Great range of flavours, ingredients and textures, especially given that the 5 course menu is priced at around 50 euro's.
Covid-19 measures weren't followed strictly if at all, this was a bit surprising.
