Went out of Amsterdam city to the windmills. Town of Zaanse Schans. Just a couple of train stops from Amsterdam Central. Nice time exploring the windmills as well as the various stalls there. Bought sambal from the windmill that are grinding spices. The sambal is not spicy and a tad sweet by Singapore standards. Guess it is adjusted for local taste but still nice though.

Really worth a visit. You will easily spend a day here with the clogs house, cheese shop, chocolate shop and loads of other places to see. All very interesting in their own right. We really enjoyed here even though it was a wet day.

This place is remarkably beautiful. We're so glad we visited it. We spent a very relaxing day there. We sat by the lake, admired the windmills, and visited the cheese shop. Everyone there was hospitable.

Such an adorable village. The windmills are functioning and we climbed them for 5 euro and it was worth it! Lots of cute shops and restaurants. Even a walking tour of the village is online and takes you through some of the homes surrounding the area. Beautifully manicured gardens to walk through, watch wooden clogs be made and sample cheese. Beautiful and well worth the stop!

Nice place to visit very closer to Amsterdam. Only 20 min train ride from Amsterdam. From the station its a 1km walk towards the windmills. So easily accessible. There are altogether 10 windmills located close to each other. You can enter inside some windmills also for a small fee. It's a nice touristy area where you get to experience the famous Dutch windmills.
