Be careful with these scammers. Worst experience ever. I booked a comfort double room, but the room even did have a work table or a proper WINDOW!! They said they have only one room like in the photo and it's booked. Dont sell what you do not have!!!!!!! I was on a work trip, and they made it very hard to work City tax is 3 euro per person per night, but they asked me to pay 23,34euros!!!! I stayed there only three days as I had booking in advance. I do not recommend this hotel. Their payment machine β€œdid not work” and they took from me 23,4euro x 3 times!!!!! Because of them, I missed 40 minutes which made me be in a rush for the flight!! SCAMMERS!!!!!

My sister and I stayed here in Aug 2019. The rooms were comfy and quirky - we are on the first floor with a neat skylight window. We loved the location - we walked everywhere. Staff was friendly, it was nice to grab a coffee or beer and sit by the canal at the end of the night. Breakfast was great to get the day started. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Special shout-out Niels, Iggy’s and ismael. Apologies if I spelled their names wrong. Me and my lady came in on a tourist trip and to keep things short, this was without a doubt the best hotel experience I have ever had. From A to Z the staff made you feel at home and catered to my needs. The location doesn’t get better than this either and the building vibes are immaculate. I can’t wait to come back!!!! Really shocked this is not a 5/5, DONT believe all the 1 star reviews lol

Only very few hotels offer a flawless customer service, this is the case of Max Brown canal district where I found the perfect assistance of Mrs Diana Munoz. Highly recommended for this reason in first place.

This hotel gave me a distinct Fawlty Towers feel. A room so small you have to go outside in order to turn around, an extremely small bathroom and hotel staff being both very attentive and very absent minded at the same time. Forgetting to prepare breakfast even though we selected a timeslot the day before, on the staffs request, and then twice the morning after having to remind them to actually prepare the breakfast is not impressive. First reminder was given to an employee at 09:30 when we ordered a taxi to pick us up at 10:15 and the second reminder was given around 09:45. Still the breakfast didn't arrive before we had to leave for the taxi. 4 guests on the neighboring table also had to remind the staff that they had ordered breakfast. So if you stay at Max Brown, dont prepay for breakfast. Pay as you go in stead. And the "Max pizza" we ordered one evening both looked like and tasted like a frozen Dr. Oetker. Seriously not impressed. See pictures. The room itself has no air-conditioned which is ok, at least during the winter months but the lack of airflow in the room causes a lot of moisture to clad up the windows and making the room very damp. Especially after a shower or a long sleep. This and the small size of the room is for me and the wife a deal breaker when choosing a hotel in Amsterdam next time. There are better hotels close by that cost more or less the same only with larger rooms and better service from the staff. If I am to mention the strengths of this hotel it's the location in the city center with it's close proximity to bars, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.

Literally one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. From the start the hotel blew our expectations. The guy helped us carry our luggage. The girls and guys there really took their time to help us whenever we needed help. From helping us pick restaurants to helping us with transportation to the airport. The hotel was very clean and very inviting. Would definitely recommend and hope to come visit again. Thank you to the staff for proving such a great experience.
