★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very surprised to read the positive reviews about 'friendly staff' and 'great service', doesn't correspond with reality at all. I highly suspect these are fake or moderated somehow by giving benefits for leaving a good review or something. If you want to try yourself go ahead, but I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere. My opinion is based on 4 different occasions, so I can't imagine these experiences were just bad luck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very great city to visit! Beautiful canals and lovely food. Had a great time, so luckily getting ripped off by this boat firm wouldn't ruin our vacation. You need to make a deposit for the boat which you should get back afterwards if you follow the rules. But the guy makes up very vague and weird extra rules when you get back. A typical method to trick tourists. If you want to rent anyways, count in losing your deposit is safest to do.
I see most positive reviews are posted by Local tour guides, and I wonder what they got in return for it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sailed with some friends when it was very hot. We called because we wanted to go on the same evening. Fortunately, that was not a problem. Nice boat, friendly staff and great way to cool off. Highly recommended if you want to see Amsterdam! We saw all the highlights from our boat, its way better than the hop on, hop off bus because you can choose your own route.
