β β β β β Perfect place for family, friends or a couple trip. Hire a boat which are battery operated and you get for 1hr, 2 hrs hire. The museum gives you historic importance of this place which is also fisherman's island and also known as Venice of Amsterdam/Netherlands.

β β β β β Beautiful and unique village. Amazing place for a cheap boat ride and trying out your skills navigating a boat. Spend some time at the lake and go in the morning as its probably tourist destination no. 2 in the NL.

β β β β β What a beautiful place. The Venice of the Netherlands we were told and it is just a wonderful place to be in. Lots of people but that's to be expected. Everyone should come and visit. The museum was really interesting and explained a lot about the history of the place. Five and a half euros to get in but I think it was worth it.

β β β β β Geithoorn.. wonderful place about 100 miles from central Amsterdam.. very close to Nature.. wonderful canal leading to the sea and nice place to sail for Giethoorn tour across restaurants, wonderful scenic houses.. Giethoorn (Dutch pronunciation: [ΛΙ£itΙ¦oΛr(Ι)n]) is a town in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands with a population of 2,795 in 2020. It is located in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, about 5 km southwest of Steenwijk. As a popular Dutch tourist destination both within Netherlands and abroad, Giethoorn is often referred to as "Dutch Venice" (Dutch: Hollands VenetiΓ«) or the "Venice of the Netherlands" Peaceful place to spend quality time with friends and family. Must to take a boat ride across Giethoorn. Thanks

β β β β β Pretty good - loads of content to read down in the (unexpected) cellar, great pieces of clothing with three photos from years gone by. Interesting history to the place. More to absorb downstairs than up so no need to rush

β β β β β The museum has a great exhibit of life in the farm in the Dutch 50βs.
The displays are very clear ( FREE audio guide in 5 languages ) and it seems like you can touch many things or even play with some stuff or dress up!
Awesome! They really know how to present.
Itβs quiet cheap to enter and they have free bathrooms, which are clean.
Thereβs several exhibits outside and they even have a stork nest.
Highly recommend to come en view life in the 50βs in Giethorn.
