★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Giethoorn is an amazing place. There are no roads so make sure to rent a boat (its cheap). I would recommend to walk till the end of the town as its cheaper there. Its beautiful and a definitely a place to go.

Giethoorn is a town in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands with a population of 2,620. It is located in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, about 5 km southwest of Steenwijk. Giethoorn is often referred to as "Little Venice" or the "Venice of the Netherlands".

Perfect destination for a holiday. A boat trip is a must.
Go in rainy days- there are fewer tourists.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Giethoorn is undoubtedly another TOP place in the bucket list, thanks to its charm and and uniqueness.
We traveled during covid times so it was not so crowded, but as it is quite small could get quite busy. One day trip can suffice to visit, and I would say it can be seen just strolling along the main street-cannal, with all its beautiful & characteristic wooden bridges, as well as plenty restaurants. Of course taking a boat its a popular way to enjoy and experience the city.
The access to the city is quite easy, best way by car, and there are several parkings, even free, only 10 min dar from the center.
