Wie was Hildo Krop?

Meer dan de stadsbeeld houwer van Amsterdam

Hildo Krop (1884-1970) was de zoon van een banketbakker in Steenwijk. Hij koos, na een gedegen koks-en bakkersopleiding, voor het kunstenaarschap. Al snel na zijn opleiding aan de Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten maakte hij naam en werd hem door de gemeente Amsterdam een dienstverband aangeboden. Na veertig jaar voor de gemeente Amsterdam te hebben gewerkt, werd hem uiteindelijk in 1956 de eretitel van Stadsbeeldhouwer van Amsterdam toegekend. Uit deze jarenlange relatie zijn ontelbare werken voor de stad Amsterdam voortgekomen. In de stadsuitbreidingswijken van tussen de beide wereldoorlogen, op bruggen en in parken treft men werk van Hildo Krop aan.

De tentoonstelling over Hildo Krop is ook zeer de moeite waard om te bekijken. Deze kunstenaar was zeer veelzijdig en tot op hoge leeftijd actief. We kregen bovendien nog gratis koffie en werden uitgebreid geïnformeerd door de vrijwilligers die museum en villa beheren. Steenwijk zelf is een leuk vestingstadje met een mooie binnenstad. The property and the garden are a feast for the eyes. Truly beautiful in every detail. The exhibition about Hildo Krop is also well worth a look. This artist was very versatile and active to an old age. We also received free coffee and were extensively informed by the volunteers who manage the museum and villa. Steenwijk itself is a nice fortified town with a beautiful city center.

Kunstenaars met succes worden zo toegeëigend. Dit is een interessant museum om meer te zien van Krop. Park en eetgelegenheid in de directe omgeving. Relaxed in de natuur. Amsterdammers regularly see work by Hildo Krop around them without realizing that he came from Steenwijk. Successful artists are thus appropriated. This is an interesting museum to see more of Krop. H	Henny Zwart on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Er is een fantastische collectie beeldhouwwerken, keramiek, klei plastieken, meubels ....noem maar op.... te zien. Wat heeft deze man veel werk verzet. Villa Rams Woerthe, waarin het museum gehuisvest is, is minstens net zoveel bijzonder. En dan nog het grote park met wandelroutes.... Als je wilt kun je dit alles uren uittrekken. Let op: aanbellen bij de entree, dan wordt je ontvangen en je jas opgehangen. Kies wat je t eerst wilt zien, de villa heeft een audio tour, het museum heeft filmzaal en fantastische uitleg van vrijwilligers. Vraag ook naar het historische filmpje.... top! Hoop dat je net zo geniet als ik deed. There is a fantastic collection of sculptures, ceramics, clay plastics, furniture .... you name it .... How much work this man has done. Villa Rams Woerthe, in which the museum is housed, is just as special. And then the large park with walking routes .... If you want, you can take all this out for hours. Note: ring the bell at the entrance, you will be received and your coat will be hung. Choose what you want to see first, the villa has an audio tour, the museum has a cinema and fantastic explanation from volunteers. Also ask for the historical video .... great!
