Incredibly annoyed by the customer service. And all I needed was a simple gift card. First called both Amsterdam stores during the week to check whether they could issue gift cards. Gelderlandplein said yes, but are not open on Sundays; Van Baerlestraat are open on Sundays but could not issue gift cards due to renovations. So went a good distance out of my way on Saturday to the Gelderlandplein store to make sure I would have the card in time, as I needed it before they would open on the Monday morning. However, when I got there, they suddenly discovered that none of their gift cards were working (despite their confirmation over the phone). This was of course already enough to merit a bad review and, if I hadn't committed to getting the card on behalf of a group of other people, would have made me think twice about patroning their stores. In an attempt to remedy the mistake, the sales assistent then also called the Van Baerlestraat store, and somebody she spoke to stated that they CAN actually issue the cards, they just can't accept them for the time being. So, in my desperation I went to the other shop the next afternoon (a good 40min trip one way). But when I got there all they could say was "Sorry, they don't know who the other sales assistent spoke to but they can't issue gift cards after all". At this point, after spending more than a few hours and more than a few euros on public transport and phone calls trying to get this arranged, I am absolutely livid. I will absolutely be making a point of never setting foot in a Petit Bateau store again, because no product will ever be good enough to make it worth dealing with such disastrous customer service ever again.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (If you ever manage to reach them). If you have any issues forget about getting to talk to anybody about it - not worth the hassle - so many better brands out there!! AVOID.

Super rude employees. They told me I could not exchange several shirts when I had the original receipts, because I didn't have the original boxes anymore. This being despite the fact their website clearly says you don't need the original packaging to make a return or exchange. The manager made it seem like the store simply had no extra boxes making it impossible to return. Um....I'm pretty sure the company makes as many boxes as they could possibly need. She was also rude and flippant about it and told me I should have been informed I couldn't exchange without the boxes when I purchased the shirt. Well, it's now my problem your employees didn't follow that policy when I bought it? Never mind it isn't even the policy anyways....ugh.

Sad to see the other poor reviews regarding customer service. I like the brand's clothing and had a lovely sweet girl help me on my last visit, even setting me up as a PB member. They offer rather good discounts during sales.

I live close by and I have a kid so I am a regular customer. I agree with other reviews that the service and the friendliness of the staff leaves much to be desired. You are rarely greeted when you enter this shop even when it's empty... What stroke me is that when we once entered the shop with my toddler son and there was a baby toy on the low lever within children reach and my son took it gently when Russian speaking assistant told that it's not for playing and he cannot take it... that sounds fine but why would you leave it by the entrance within child's reach in the children clothes store (!!!). I find it ridiculous...

Terrible shipping experience - 3 days later after the purchase, the store haven’t opened their doors once - even when clearly should be during their working hours
