About Proto
Aangezien shared dining voor de Baloumis brothers al een ding was voordat het overal in Nederland een ding werd, kwam Proto in 2002 tot leven als tapas-bar en -restaurant.
De allermooiste locatie – en dat zeggen ze niet alleen zelf – aan de Alphense waterkant is ideaal voor het Zuid-Europees getinte totaalplaatje waarover zij fantaseerden: een plek waar mensen samenkomen om te delen, samen te eten en zo met elkaar te verbinden. De bindende kracht van samen eten (delen) is enorm krachtig.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can express it in 1 word, excellent The quality of the food was how it supposed to be. It was a busy evening so I took a while before we got our food, but it was worth it. We had a friendly waitress and the way the restaurant looks is very pleasing. Definitely a come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place stared out as a cozy restaurant with great tapas, but recently has been extended. Now the dishes lack variation and creativity, the restaurant mostly serves stadardized food menus. Internally it struggles with the separation between the two buildings with staff running about disturbing the relaxed atmosphere.
The food quality is still great, but it would be nice to see more variety such as tortillas, garbanzos or other spanish dishes in stead of food that you already can eat in every other restaurant.
