β β β β β The first place in the Netherlands I tried croquettes I liked and it frankly worth 10 out of 5 stars :)
Other dishes (we tried Texel lamb, oysters and ravioli) were of course delicious and Chardonnay was outstanding.
I deliberately do not post any food pictures. Come and see and try. It is definitely worth it.

β β β β β Pretentious. Some pretty good food and some failed efforts of good food. Some waiters more capable than others. When my brother in law spilled some water, one waiter had an obviously dirty cloth to lap it up, touching my cutlery in the process. He then picked it up to put it back next to my plate. Argh.
Pro: North sea crab, the ossehaas, calf's cheek with ducks liver, shrimp croquettes. A great view in summer. Good wines.
Against: one of the waiters. The iberico that had absolutely no taste. And the dessert with green "whatever" and some kind of chocolate crumbs
Another pro: great Irish coffee.

β β β β β Amazing experience in the middle of nothing. Texel is a small island, a peaceful tourist place, and you can't expect such good restaurants in this kind of places.
Menu is not in english, it's hard to understand what is written if you don't speak Dutch; anyway, the waiter was so kind to go through the entire menu, and he explained ingredient by ingredient every course.
Gourmet meals, prices are above average, price performance was extremely good. Silence and peace were very appreciated.
If you like to eat well while travelling, you can't miss this place.

β β β β β A very good restaurant on the edge of forest and farmland. The terrace provided nice views and was sufficiently sheltered from the wind. The food was great; so was the bottle of cava. Some interesting Asian influences, like this Okonomiyaki.

β β β β β Amazing culinary experience in a quite corner of the forest overlooking a field. The food was excellent. We had really good service from the staff. Would definitely return.

β β β β β During the lockdown, we ordered twice take out, it's nice. In August 2021 finally there is a chance to have the dinner there, it's really good. Nice dishes, not over seasoning, every bite you can taste the flavour of the ingredients itself. Nice wine pairing and lots of choice for whiskey

Each dish was a nice portion and beautifully served. Only that we felt slightly uncomfortable when a kind waiter was talking over our wine glasses because of the current covid outbreak continuing in the country. It's not only at this restaurant. Hope the whole situation gets better soon.
