About Restaurant Elkaar

A very nice restaurant that has been awarded a Bib-Gourmand. Exceptional pricing with very attentive staff. Really enjoyed the chef's menu. There is a large terrace out front with a pleasant view. Great place to escape the otherwise crowded city center.

Excellent French cuisine. Excellent price. The staff and chef were so friendly. I highly recommend this spot, you will not be dissapointed. Taste and presentation second to none. You may want to call ahead to reserve as it is intimate in size, but we got in without a reservation on a Monday night. We can't wait to visit again next year. They are Michelin award winning. Bravo!

A must whether you are local or on tour! Absolutely 5*. Each component of each dish was beautifully and complexly flavoured and when combined with one another they provided absolute delights. The service and atmosphere were fantastic.

I’ve been looking forward to visit BijElkaar for a long time. The food was amazing and worthy of the Bib. The experience however was horrible. We’ve been in the restaurant from 19:00 till 23:30 (waiting on 6 courses). The time between the courses was extremely long. In between one of the courses we’ve waited for 70 minutes… The rest was not as long, but still way too long. We’ve tried to communicate with the staff and she was telling the kitchen had a busy night. The rest of the restaurant however was enjoying their night and received the courses in time, so we just couldn’t understand why we were the only the table everything took so long. No one took the time in between the courses to give us a heads up it would take longer than normal. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been looking forward this night, however, our night was ruined and paying €300+ felt like throwing the money away, even for the good food.

I love the location and the atmosphere. The food is good, but sometimes a little 80's in it's haute cuisine style (ice cream of things that aren't usually ice cream, foams, crumbles etc). It seems to me that they're not quite innovative enough to pull off the fancy stuff, so maybe they would benefit from keeping it a bit more classical.
